Direct Drive Axial Pump – 1600 PSI
Karcher pumps are well manufactured and of a direct drive axial type. They don’t have many moving parts which means that they wear at a lesser rate and additionally they are smaller and lighter in weight than competitors designs. The pump can provide 1600 PSI with this model at a flow rate of 1.25 gallons per minute which is powerful when you compare it to a garden hose (30x more power) and will doo any job required around the house and home.
The motor is a 120V unit which is typical of pressure washers in this size range, single phase. Karcher make their own motors and pumps and you can therefore rely on them lasting a long time (note this unit also comes with a 1 year warranty). The power cord is almost 11m long (35 foot) and the ground fault circuit interrupter ensures safety which is always a concern when working with electricity and water. The interrupter will stop the unit if the conditions detected become unsafe, especially important if you have children that a unit has this functionality.
Portability – Hose and Cable Length
The Karcher K 2.300 has a 7.6 metre hose (25 foot) which is made from a special purposed PVC material, 0.25 inches in diameter and a threaded connection so that you can add on extension hoses if desired. The extension hoses are handy if you don’t want to walk around the unit and would like to just carry around the spray wand. The gun or wand is residential grade, so not recommended for commercial purposes but don’t let that detract from the product itself as its meant for job around the home. The trigger itself drive the motor to start and stop so that you aren’t wasting energy when in standby and not running the risk of over pressure in the unit. For really tough applications there is the Dirtblaster spray wand which effectively increases water pressure by up to 80% so that you can use it on really tough stains and grime – the driveway is a good example here. All in all this is a great unit for residential purposes and suits a buyer who wants a reliable, qualityproduct to do the basics.
