When it comes to pressure washing, there are many pressure washer parts that are required to keep our machine in optimal condition and get the most out of it. See the list of most essential parts below.
Part #1: The Pump
A critical part is the pressure pump and its internal components. Depending on the model and brand of the washer, there are horizontal and vertical pumps, ranging from pounds per square inch output from 1000 up to 3000 for home users. Some pumps run on gas. Some run on electricity. It is a good idea to acquire a full repair kit if it ever becomes necessary to replace the pump, to avoid worn out pieces being installed with the new ones.
Part #2: The Hose
One of the most important parts for any pressure washer is the hose. A cracked or broken hose will hinder the water pressure and can make the engine and pump work harder than is necessary and overheat. For each model there is a type of recommended hose, able to sustain the inner pressure produced by your washer.
Part #3: The Nozzle
The nozzle and blower wheels have the function to spread the pressurized water and get it to reach the most hidden corners. There are a variety of nozzles available, depending on the cleaning solution to be used, the pressure to be applied, and/or the temperature or the density of the cleaning liquid being used. For each part, be sure to read the specifications before installing and to make sure they are adequate for the intended use.
Buying parts for your power washer can be an overwhelming task, especially since pressure washers come in a wide range of models. Finally it is always a good idea to check out your pressure washers owner’s manual before trying to install a part to avoid breakdowns and to get the most out of the pressure washer.
